A cozy horror maze game about avoiding werewolfhood before sunset.

I wasn’t going to write anything long form for this one—the prompt is pretty straightforward.

But I did want to note how the game’s one-liner has evolved since people started playing it.

From the start, we knew “cozy combat” was a good way to describe the fight mechanic. But over time, the tag that’s resonated most with players is “cozy horror.”

We’re talking G-rated horror concepts for folks who love the idea of monsters, but don’t necessarily want the jump scares. A friend I used to podcast with once said: “I won’t watch horror movies, but I’ll absolutely read the Wikipedia summaries.” That’s the vibe.

The Curse of the Howling Woods lets scaredy cats like us enjoy werewolves, chomping pumpkin monsters, and a spooky forest—all without losing sleep.

That said… the timer still gets the blood pumping. Turns out a countdown clock is scarier than any skeleton.
