Day 5: What part of game dev do I struggle with most? - Lee

It’s a tie between how long it takes to get things in front of the public and… well, this — writing these posts 😅
Someone said their favourite part is sitting back and watching it all come together, and I get that. There’s something incredible about seeing the pieces align, knowing you made that happen. But what people don’t see is the daily grind — the slow trudge through tweaks, testing, rewrites, and bug-hunting that make up most of game dev.
It’s easy to feel like you’re not doing enough. The output isn’t always flashy, and when you’re not posting big updates, it can feel like people assume you’re slacking off. (Writers, I see you — finishing a novel or a game? Massive respect.)
Then there’s the self-promo side: socials, Discord, Patreon updates — all the "Hey, remember us? We’re still making cool stuff!" moments. It’s exhausting but worth it, because we’ve been lucky to build a community of genuinely kind, excited people who actually want to see us succeed. That’s huge. That’s rare. And honestly, it’s what keeps me doing it.
And hey — if a couple of people out there are quietly hoping I fail? Some days, I make progress just for them 😎
