So, I’ve decided to do a thing. Yep, I’m officially jumping into the RPG Maker 2025 Game Jam over on itch.io. Apparently, I looked at my schedule, saw no free time, and thought, “What if I filled all that lack of space with chaos?”
What’s the Jam?
For anyone unfamiliar, this is a global event where devs create a brand-new game using RPG Maker—any version, any style, as long as it’s made during the jam period (March 16 to April 16, 2025). It’s about experimenting, trying new things, and actually finishing a project—emphasis on finishing, which we all know is the real final boss.
What I’m Making
I’m using RPG Maker MZ to build a mini, hour-long adventure game in the Raguthra style—which means it’s going to be story-driven, character-focused, and visually consistent with the tone of our current work. This is an idea that’s been rolling around in my head for a while, and this jam is the perfect excuse to finally make it real.
My goal? Keep it tight, keep it fun, finish it. This is a chance to focus on rapid development—no overthinking, just building, testing, iterating, and letting the story unfold.
What to Expect
Over the next month, I’ll be posting progress updates, behind-the-scenes snippets, and a few “why did I do this to myself” moments. I’ll share as much as I can publicly, but our Patreon supporters will get full access to the chaos—extra details, WIPs, and early looks at whatever this thing becomes.
I’m also looking forward to seeing what the RPG Maker community creates—there’s always a wild mix of genres, styles, and off-the-wall ideas in these jams, and it’s awesome to be part of that energy.
Let’s make something fun.
Lee
